Job Description
The primary responsibility of this position is to inspect various castings for hardness, isual defects and shift or swell while ensuring all quality standards are met. Incumbent must follow inspection QCI s (Quality Control Instructions) and process control charts. Performs sample, audit, and 100% inspections as appropriate on in process and final parts. Incumbent will work under moderate supervision. Responsibilities captioned below are considered essential job functions:
Key Performance Areas:
Adhere to established safety procedures and 5 S standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain the cycle) required to perform daily duties in this position, including the proper techniques used in lifting/moving of parts Inspects the quality of the first piece produced by others in the department. Perform various inspections in accordance to written instructions. Repair small defects in castings by using small hand tools. Verifies castings are released from the lab by utilizing the computer terminal. Furnace test sample preparation for chemical analysis. Ensure mould preparation and pouring process complies to control standards. Perform chemical Analysis on Spectrograph Perform Brinell hardness testing. Prepare and perform microscopic analysis. Machine and perform tensile testing. Other duties as assigned required being very flexible in their daily job assignments. Internal Auditing Perform duties in such a way that it does not cause harm to Equipment, building or premises. Report any irregularities to Supervisor.
