Job Summary KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: xe2x80xa2 Manoeuvring forklifts safely in busy industrial environments xe2x80xa2 Safely loading and unloading trucks xe2x80xa2 Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport xe2x80xa2 Identifying damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies xe2x80xa2 Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions. xe2x80xa2 Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages xe2x80xa2 Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport. xe2x80xa2 Keeping up to date on health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures xe2x80xa2 Consolidating partial pallets for incoming goods QUALIFICATION REQUIRED: & SKILLS ACADEMIC / OTHER QUALIFICATION xe2x80xa2 Matric xe2x80xa2 Valid certification to operate forklifts xe2x80xa2 Excellent Communication skills (Verbal and written) EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING xe2x80xa2 Proven experience as forklift operator xe2x80xa2 Knowledge of SQAS would be advantageous xe2x80xa2 Previous warehouse experience xe2x80xa2 Hazardous materials training, as needed. ABILITIES xe2x80xa2 Use own initiative xe2x80xa2 Ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines. xe2x80xa2 Efficient individual with excellent time management skills. xe2x80xa2 Ability to work under pressure xe2x80xa2 Work with minimum or no supervision xe2x80xa2 Team player xe2x80xa2 Ability to work long hours and weekends when required xe2x80xa2 Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment Own transport is required
