Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 Certificate (Matric)

Valid Forklift License

Minimum 2-3 years' experience operating a forklift in an industrial or food processing environment. Strong understanding of food safety protocols and forklift safety regulations. Attention to detail & time management Communication and teamwork Adaptability to changing priorities Physical stamina and the ability to work in cold, noisy, and physically demanding environments Strong awareness of food quality, hygiene, and health & safety practices

Duties and Responsibilities

Safely operate a forklift to handle materials such as meat, spices, packaging, and other resources required for processing. Adhere to safe heavy equipment lifting practices at all times. Conduct pre-use inspections of the forklift and fill in the checklist before operation. Offload materials from delivery trucks into designated areas within the processing plant. Transport materials from storage areas to processing sections as needed. Collect waste crates from the processing facility and transport them to the crate wash area for cleaning. Remove waste cages from all plant areas and dispose of them in designated waste areas Wash the forklift at the designated wash bay after each use to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards. Ensure the forklift is fueled and perform basic maintenance tasks as required. * Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including manual handling and organization of materials.
