Job Description


Responsible for the moving of raw materials from warehouse or finished goods from production to dispatch, materials from stores to the operational line as well as from the operational line to the stores areas as well as the warehouse. Responsible for operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. The candidate will be responsible for servicing all operational lines. The role is responsible for loading and offloading of materials, packaging, and finished products, ensuring that all these are transported, stored, and handled with the required Nandos Feitoria safety and compliance standards.
Minimum Requirements

  • Matric or recognised equivalent qualification.
  • Numeracy and Literacy Proficient.
  • Forklift License
Minimum of 1 year experience in:
  • Operating of fork truck
  • Manufacturing exposure
  • Good knowledge of industrial equipment
Duties and Responsibilities
Health and Safety:
  • Following all Nandos Feitoria safety rules and policies.
  • Wearing safety equipment and PPE.
  • Reporting all dangerous or unsafe behavior to the manager.
  • Never to engage in any unsafe act.
  • Ensures Factory housekeeping Standards are maintained.
  • Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by reporting any malfunctions.
  • Ensure the speed limit is adhered to and the safety belt is always used.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring that work is within xe2x80x98safe systems of work including all types of mobile pallet moving equipment.
Forklift Operation:
  • Using the shop packet, locate and move stock pallets to the designated areas.
  • Ensure raw material is transported to the production workstations on time in preparation for the days activities.
  • Ensure the Team leader signs on the shop packet/manual slip confirming the receipt of material.
  • Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs.
  • Liaise with colleagues ensuring continuity of OEE and carry out effective handovers both verbally and in writing to the next shift.
  • Check the daily shift plan and production plan, and verify tasks required for the shift.
  • Fill in the required documents for audit purposes and clarify possible discrepancies to the auditors.
  • Make sure that the forklift is in working condition, conduct the applicable checks and record required details on the check list.
  • Scan pallets and input details on SAP, making sure SAP transactions are completed within the stipulated timeframes, with precision and accuracy.
  • Wrap the pallets using the wrapping machine and stack the pallets in the correct order.
  • Replenish the required materials according to production requirements and orders.
  • Create space for the forklift to operate properly and stack material in the storage area and the production line.
  • Communicate with packers on completion of the production line and collect pallets.
  • Load and offload product onto shunting vehicles, as and when required, to enable the smooth operation and supply of raw materials and packaging to the factories.
  • Uphold the integrity of products being handled and ensure that the highest standards are maintained during transportation of product.
  • Handle all materials in accordance with the company's guidelines and specifications and distribute/ collect timeously to/ from internal customers to meet production requirements.
  • Ensuring that all pallets are GRV, using a scanner according to country orders, product flavours based on lines variance.
