Forestry Operations Manager (Harvesting & Silviculture), Mthatha Eastern Cape, Rneg + Company Housing

• Degree/Diploma Forestry. MSc Forestry is an added advantage / Operations Management
• Minimum 15 yearsxe2x80x99 production intense experience in Forestry operations management (Both Silviculture and Harvesting).
• At least 5 years of the 15 must be at senior management level or business unit level with demonstrated control of finances, budgeting, and result reporting
• Budgeting and cost control
• Advanced Excel skills for large data management (pivots, dashboard, data analysis)
• Project management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• In-depth understanding of Forestry operations and processes (Both Harvesting and Silviculture)
• Safety and Risk management

• Forestry production workflow management: identifying constraints in harvesting, transport and roads and exploring opportunities for production improvement
• Operations management including management of Silviculture, Cattle, Harvesting, Transport, Roads, Workshop departments.
• Mining relevant information and data from harvesting, transport, and roads operations to maximize throughput
• Analyse production figures, prepare reports and make recommendations for improvement to senior management
• Use statistical methods to analyse the many facets of production information generated by operations and can escalate the analysis to the business context
• Create monthly reports to management on key findings and assessments
• Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices
• Perform quality controls and manage short term and long-term production KPI`s
• Device ways to increase quality of customer service
• Daily, weekly & monthly production trends monitoring and management
