Job Description
Our client in the Northern Cape Region requires the services of a Foreman (Technical/Safety), with a valid trade test in Fitting or Boilermaking on a fixed term contract.
Description:
- The purpose of this position is to assist management in direct oversight of the department's daily operation.
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- Valid section 13 trade test / section 26(D) in a Fitter or Boilermaker certificate required
- Samtrac / COMSOC certification
- Valid driver's license code B, EB or C1
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in maintenance withing the mining industry, with at least 3 years supervisory experience required.
- Time management skills
- Supervisory management
- Finance to non-financial managers experience is an advantage
- Computer Literacy in MS Office
- Investigate and diagnose problems and breakdowns
- Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health & safety Act regulations
- Attend to breakdowns immediately to minimize downtime.
- Determine work schedules in conjunction with other engineering / process teams to ensure availability
- Enforce compliance with legal requirements, i.e. right to stop dangerous work
- Train site employees on safety topics, information
