Field Sales Engineer - Aftersales (Food & Water Division)
Alfa Laval Africa is looking for a specialist in sales to support the Food and Water business in Southern Africa. The primary focus of the role will be to direct sales of Alfa Laval Services and Spares within a defined area of responsibility (e. g. geographical, group of customer, industry or product group etc.) working with the support of the line manager or another experienced field salesperson.

Key Responsibilities & Objectives

• Follow established sales processes and guidelines to promote and sell Alfa Laval After Sales Services (Spares, Service Contracts, Workshop Service, Field Service etc).
• Be active in the market and focus on making visits, meetings and interactions with already existing customers, focusing on customer needs, understanding and highlighting the value of our products and services.
• Develop value quotes reflecting the customer needs, stressing the unique selling points and follow up.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Identify customer needs and propose tailored service solutions

• Use the CRM tool and other tools in a consistent and qualitative way, to support the sales process and take decisions.
• Use installed base tools to identify opportunities and expand customer coverage
• Sales Ownership: Responsible for order intake and sales forecasting (monthly/quarterly). Drive growth in assigned territories or industries.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensure all contractual commitments align with Alfa Laval's policies. Review and approve quotations and contracts per authorization procedures.

What you can be?

• Graduate/Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering
• 3+ years of sales experience in similar role (5+ years of sales experience for diploma holder)
• Exposure working in Southern African market
• Exposure to selling and or servicing the Food Industry/Beverage/ Brewery/ Vegetable or Seed Oils is preferred
• Exposure working in Starch & Sugar or Dairy Industry will be an added advantage
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to express ideas clearly both in written and verbal formats.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-up skillset
• Organised, methodical and ability to solve problems.
• Flair to work in a team.
