To print good quality laminated, paper and shrink product in line with the ISO 9001 - 2000 Standards.

Responsibilities

1. Set the machine using the correct process information (SOP xe2x80x98s and SOCxe2x80x99s), considering the following;
o Formulation xe2x80x93 CS Nylon / BX Nylon / Barrier Tubing or Paper.
o Colour mixing xe2x80x93 Using the correct Pantone colour reference.
o The correct anilox screen rollers
o Viscosity of inks is within Specification.
o Checking that the Print register is within Specification.
o Checking that the Repeat length is within Specification.

2. Control of material
o Complete the required Production Order at a material yield of 97% or better.
o Complete the daily production at a 70% efficiency rate.
o Use the correct inks and apply the correct mixing formulation as required in the SOC.
o Complete all administrative tasks and do the RTS to the stores with the required information (production order #, date, weight of roll, width etc. written on the roll label).

3. Control of the machine and equipment
o To use the SOP to understand the full operation of the machine. Complete daily production at a 70% efficiency rate.
o Machine set up in accordance with the SOC to produce good quality Printed production at all times, in line with all quality specifications.
o Reports all malfunctions and repair work required on the machine to the Factory Supervisor.
o Be able to do preventative Maintenance i.e., lubrication, roller changes, anilox changes in a safe manner as and when required.
o Operates the Printing Press Machine in compliance with the Cryovac safety rules and ISO 9001 - 2000 standards.
o Report any potential hazards in his/her working area.
o Responsible for the safety, care, cleaning and reasonable maintenance of all equipment used by yourself, your assistant, including anilox rollers, sleeves, ink trays and pumps etc.
o Ultimately responsible for the machine during your shift.
o Maintain good housekeeping of the machine, equipment and the areas under your control.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge

• Matric
• Trade Certification in Flexography Machine or Printing (Advantageous)
• Experience in Printing, Lamination and Bagmaking processes
• Experience in production, process design & engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of the use of computer programs / process simulation packages. Good computer skills with MS Office programs
• Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
• Excellent technical skills
• Sound understanding of processes and process controls.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Process Safety xe2x80x93 understanding safety as priority 1 above cost and efficiency.
• Being able to examine operating procedures and make recommendations on improvements.
• Being able to manage projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with other design and engineering staff, as well as customers.
• SAP and or other ERP systems knowledge.
