Fleet Manager - Logistics and Distribution Industries - PhilippiFull job descriptionA leading player in the Logistics and Distribution Industries would like to appoint a Fleet Manager at their Depot in Philippi, near Cape Town. The overall objective of this operations manager role is to effectively manage and oversee the day to day (also nightshift) operations of the depot/plant. This includes the short term planning and scheduling of daily operations. This extends from the productivity of drivers and their vehicles; along with the overall maintenance of vehicles; solving queries etc. in order to deliver exceptional service within clientsxe2x80x99 SLA.Candidates should have 3 years' experience in managing a fleet of trucks in a transport and/or logistics environment and must be willing to work shifts and every 3rd weekend. The ideal person should be able to read a budget and be able to understand basic financial reporting. Candidates with good Excel skills and experience are encourage to apply.Budget Control:Creditors - Ensure all invoices and POxe2x80x99s are signed off and submitted to Finance. Follow up on outstanding money; Other - Insurance claims, traffic fines, vehicle maintenance; Management of driver hours; Budget and Resource Planning xe2x80x93 Use relevant data and analysis to give input into budget preparation for the division/depot.Client Service:Service Culture xe2x80x93 Deliver within SLA; Partnership Management xe2x80x93 Cultivate objective working relationships with variety of stakeholders (e.g. HR team, IT, Clients); Client Relationship Management xe2x80x93 Daily client interactions on the frontline. Solve challenges and queries to reduce complaints.Operational Execution:Oversee and manage own fleet of vehicles.Trip managementLoad trips onto in-house application; Manage and schedule driversxe2x80x99 working hours; Route planning; Oversee successful loading of goods at clients with all relevant paperwork; Planning and scheduling the overs (old order incomplete from last loading cycle with new orders received.Experience and Qualifications:Minimum of 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a transport environment.Proven track record of managing portfolio of customers.Excel knowledge and experience in using Excel spread sheet are essential.Must be willing to work shifts and every 3rd weekend (one day in the week off to compensate).Must be able to read a budget (not compile) and have basic understanding of financial reporting/statements.A minimum of matric/grade 12A relevant diploma/degree will be a benefit.A valid driversxe2x80x99 license and own transport is required.Languages: The successful candidate must be able to communicate fluently in both English and AfrikaansJob Type: Full-timePay: R28 000,00 - R35 000,00 per monthAbility to commute/relocate:Philippi, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Education:High School (matric) (Required)Experience:fleet management in transport environment: 4 years (Required)Language:Afrikaans and English (Required)License/Certification:Drivers' License (Required)
