Purpose of the Job

To provide ESM plants with a cost-effective fleet to enable them to fulfil their contractual obligations to Engen customers.

What you'll have done before:

Baseline:
  • NQF Level 7 (BTech Degree in Diesel Mechanics or related)
  • 8 years' experience in Fuel industry with specific experience in Transport workshops and Fleet engineering
  • Petrochemical environment experience (Operations/Bulk fuel distribution)
  • Experience in Operations/Distribution & Procurement business processes
  • Workshop Management and Fleet Engineering Experience
  • Good record of HSEQ Compliance
  • SAP - PM, MM & HR
  • Transport regulatory requirements with specific reference to dangerous goods transportation

  • Applies knowledge of new technology and approaches to managing the pillars take of sustainability in transport operations
  • Driving cost management and fleet efficiency
  • Effectively manage a large geographically spread workshop team
  • Operate effectively, take initiative on all own fleet related issues, even when things are not certain, or the way forward is not clear
What you'll be doing
  • Maintaining the security of company assets by ensuring the safe operation of all equipment and workshop facilities
  • Planning, scheduling, and assigning work to repair facilities staff members or outside contractors
  • Monitoring the progress of repair jobs, checking quality of work performed, and resolving issues with contractors or workers as needed
  • Ensuring that all necessary safety precautions are followed during all phases of construction, repair, and maintenance operations
  • Reviewing bids from contractors and selecting the most qualified bidders based on price, reputation, and references
  • Building and leverage on new technologies by being familiar with the latest automotive technologies to allow effective diagnosis and provide accurate estimates for repairs.
