Position Summary: This position is within the Southern Trials - Fisher BioServices (ICRPMC) business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The Pharmacy Technician of the ICRPMC government contract (Southern Trials) assists with various daily operational tasks.

Main Responsibilities:

• Receiving and Inspection of study shipments received, i.e. Checking and inspection of received study products and documents. Completion of Receiving and Inspection Forms.
• Perform duties related to storage of Clinical Research Products and related materials.
• Process orders from clinical research sites for clinical research products in COSMOS.
• Scanning and filing of shipment documents and any facility records.
• Receiving released study products and related materials into the warehouse.
• Shipment of the products to clinical trial sites per order, i.e. packing and dispatch.
• Cold Chain maintenance during storage and shipment, including temperature recorders, i.e. ambient, wet ice and frozen shipments.

Additional Job Functions:

• Assist with inventory control activities, including physical stock counts and using the Computerized Inventory Control System (COSMOS).
• Assist with daily environmental monitoring and control activities, including storage temperature and relative humidity in the warehouse and storage equipment.
• Assist with any other functions as designated by the Responsible Pharmacist and/or Team Leader, Distribution.
• Undergo all required training in order to perform your duties as expected.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate
• Registered with South African Pharmacy Council as Pharmacy Assistant

Experience:

• Requires 2+ years of experience as a Qualified Basic or Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant
• Experience in the pharmaceutical distribution / wholesale is preferable but not required.

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• Must use personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in walk-in freezers or refrigerators periodically.
• Must be able to use a computer up to 8 hours per day.
• Must be able to work in a laboratory and warehouse/repository environment.
