Our client, in the Manufacturing industry, based in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to employ an experienced Fitter/Millwright.

Requirements:

• Must be a qualified Fitter or Millwright that has passed a recognized trade test.
• 3 - 5 years post apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• General machining experience as well as CNC, pneumatic / hydraulic maintenance experience is required.
• Own reliable transport will be advantageous.
• Lifting Machine and lifting tackle experience will be advantageous.
• Must be willing to work overtime/shifts and be on standby and/or overtime at short notice.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct breakdown maintenance, complete proactive maintenance / maintain plant & machinery.
• Assisting in installation & commissioning of new equipment.
• Perform planned maintenance tasks on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Adhere to industry environmental, safety & OHSA standards.
• Fault finding / testing and evaluating equipment for irregularities then repairing the same.
• Investigating problem areas by reading and working from mechanical drawings.
• Performing machining operations relevant to associated maintenance or repairs.
• Safety installations and compliance.
• Using the planned maintenance system with reference to the inline maintenance schedules and shutdown maintenance schedules.
• Adherence to both industry quality standards and the requirements of ISO 9001.
• Where appropriate, overseeing work of contractors on site.
• Providing support & assistance to all departments.
• Be involved with the repair of lifting machinery and lifting tackle.
