Job Purpose:





Responsible for the maintenance of the packaging equipment to eliminate or reduce equipment down-time to ensure we deliver products to our customers on time. Responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of the utilities equipment within the facility and perform mechanical planned preventative maintenance on the packaging equipment to ensure day to day efficiencies of plant and equipment are maximized. The role involves the performance of scheduled preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, project works, process improvement activities, and timely mechanical/manufacturing assistance to achieve site operational objectives.


Key Outputs:




Ensure that site assets operate effectively, efficiently, safely and without downtime Ensure Plant availability according to production plan Support production & give 100% machine availability Maintenance & repair of mechanical equipment Minimize equipment downtime Optimize overall plant performance Ensure reactive / pro-active maintenance activities are completed on-time and to plan Achieve a 90% plan adherence target each week (to deliver key daily activities) Ensure all queries are followed up and resolved in the shortest possible timeframe Customer satisfaction: zero losses in manufacturing time, labour hours and throughput Maintain a professional attitude is displayed when responding to a customer need To ensure that all mechanical faults are found and repaired Ensure no faults occur and if they do adjustments are made and checks carried out until no fault exists Work closely with Technicians Engineers/ Technical Support departments to deliver continuous improvement projects Coordinate technical improvements under the departments' continuous improvement program Achieve cost savings based on budget. Ensure projects are completed successfully Ensure that new equipment meets the regulatory requirements of the business & health and safety Ensure GMP is applied in all areas


Minimum N3 Certificate - Fitter Trade Tested (Red Seal) Artisan. Millwright Qualification advantageous 5 years' experience within an FMCG production/manufacturing environment Pharmaceutical industry experience will be advantageous Proven track record or demonstrated ability in plant maintenance Computer literate in Microsoft office suite packages and Pragma experience Work within a Quality Management System (QMS) desirable
