Subject: Fitter & Turner
Minimum Requirement:
1. Able to read and write
2. Must have an matric
3. Work experience 10 years in steel industry related to Slitting, CTL and Guillotine lines
4. Accredited Red Seal
Work duties required:
1. Perform Mechanical tasks
2. Maintaining plant machinery to ensure availability and reliability
3. Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on machinery
4. Attending breakdowns
5. Installation of pump, gearboxes, Valves, couplings and machine drives
6. Provide feedback and documentation of all completed jobs and work in progress
7. Ensure compliance to Health and Safety in the work environment
8. Fault finding on pneumatical and hydraulic circuits
9. Attending to standby and ensuring machines are available
10. Fill in daily timesheet for maintenance team
11. Job cards
12. Interact with the plant manager on a daily basis regarding breakdowns and plant improvements
13. Manage artisan assistants
14. Maintain the administration & documentation aspects of the maintenance department ensuring records are kept up to date and communicated to all concerned
15. Conduct stock take on critical spares periodically
16. Effectively delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift and small projects to the right skills in the team, planning and managing effective works.
