Our client based in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to employ an experienced Fitter and Turner.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 10 years post-qualification working experience in a maintenance workshop environment.
• Completed Fitter and Turner trade test is essential.
• A valid driverxe2x80x99s licence is essential.
• Must be willing to attend additional courses to comply with health and safety regulations such as Fire Fighting, Forklift, Scaffolding, Basic PLC, and Boiler courses.
• Must be able to read and interpret safety documents, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must be willing to work overtime as required.
• Computer literacy

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

• High level of technical skills required for lathe work, use of milling machine, tooling, grinding, drilling, tapping etc.
• Sheetmetal and Bench works.
• Basic Hydraulics knowledge (Cylinders, motors and pumps, valves, actuators etc.)
• Pneumatics skills required for understanding of compressed air equipment and compressors, feed lines, accumulators, cylinders, control circuits etc.
• Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance.
• Ordering of materials and parts.
• Safety valve maintenance.
• Repairs of equipment.
• Mechanical and electrical fault finding.
• Operating and repairing boilers (coal and diesel).
• Preparation of boilers and tanks for statutory pressure tests.
• Basic electrical skills.
• Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
• Ensure personal protective equipment is identified and available.
• Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage.
