Job Description



The FP&A function plays a pivotal role in enabling Sage to make informed decisions, drive competitive advantage, and successfully execute its strategic ambitions. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality internal operational management reporting and Group performance reporting for the AME region. It ensures that outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with Sage's policies and FTSE 100 best-practice standards.




The role is integral to the strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial/management reporting cycles. It also contributes meaningful insights that support financial decision-making and enhance overall business performance through strong collaboration with commercial and operational teams.




Location - 3 days per week out of our Johannesburg office.


Key Responsibilities

- Produce accurate, insightful, and timely monthly financial and non-financial reports for presentation to the Executive Management Team.


- Continuously improve, streamline, and automate financial reporting processes for the region, ensuring all submissions meet Group deadlines.


- Support the commercial finance team and finance business partners across the full forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning cycle.


- Deliver high-quality ad hoc Group and regional performance analyses, focused on insight generation and value creation.


- Design and implement effective budgeting and forecasting tools/processes, ensuring strong interlock across functions and regions during planning.


- Partner with Finance Operations and Systems teams to build and enhance reporting tools, enabling improved management reporting and KPI tracking for senior leadership.


- Provide relevant data-driven insights to support commercial decision-making and drive business performance.




Skills, Knowledge & Experience


Must Have:


- Strong understanding of HFM (advantageous).


- High-energy, ambitious individual with a passion for delivering excellence.


- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet tight deadlines.


- Working knowledge of Power BI (advantageous).


- Excellent relationship-building skills across all levels of the organisation.


- Hands-on approach with a genuine curiosity for uncovering the drivers behind financial performance.


- Expert knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning principles.




Preferred:


- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.


- High level of initiative, ownership, and self-motivation


- Advanced Excel proficiency and strong competency across Microsoft Office Suite.




- Work away scheme for up to 10 weeks a year


- Life Insurance: 2x annual salary covered with the option to flex up cover at own cost up to a maximum of 6X annual salary.


- Income Protection: 75% of the monthly risk salary is paid to the colleague in the event of long-term sickness, provided they are unable to perform their duties.

- 15 days annual leave for fixed term colleagues and 20 annual leave days for permanent colleagues. The annual leave entitlement for permanent colleagues will increases with seniority. 30 days sick leave in a 3 year cycle, 6 days of Family responsibility leave and Religious leave combined, and 5 or 10 days of sports leave based on representation.
