Job Description
Job Summary The role sits within the Investments division of the insurer and will give exposure to the full finance cycle. You will get exposure to concepts such as institutional assets, investment credit under retail, unit trusts, and equilibrium in the marketplace.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Oversee accounting practices and policies in line with group standards and ensure that cost allocations are aligned with the business methodology.
- Manage the implementation of segment finance policies, procedures and controls in line with Group Finance frameworks.
- Manage the implementation and adherence to financial controls on all lines of business and economic systems, ensure that authorization levels are adhered to, and raise any exceptions with the relevant stakeholders.
- BCom Honours degree Accounting
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
- 4/5 years' experience post articles in Financial Services
- Previous experience in Investments will count in your favour
- People Management experience
- Working knowledge of IFRS 17 will be a bonus
