Job Summary
Financial reporting and analysis
Review reconciled expenditure reports to test the validity of costs
Calculate and reconcile VAT payable on a monthly basis
Check, verify, and release bank payments
Ensure Order protocol is followed
Preparation of monthly management reports for presentation to the board
Perform detailed analysis and review on COS % to identify any problems
Planning and oversight of monthly stock counts
Review monthly EMP201 submissions
Ensure the Heads of departments within operations receive and sign for departmental financial results
Review the monthly management accounts pack to fully assess the performance
Identify slow-moving and expired stock
Check all credit card and cash deposit reconciliations on a monthly basis
Weekly review of debtorsxe2x80x99 open accounts on Opera and investigation issues
Ensure that payroll-related costs are within the approved management plan and structure for various departments
Spot checks on stock counted to ensure accurate counts
Review petty cash count and reconciliation on a monthly basis
Ensure trade accounts are accurate and published on time
Compile annual budgets and submit them for CFO approval
Manage own team performance to ensure delivery of the approved finance strategy across departments
Prepare annual audit files as per the Group instructions received
Ensure accurate and timely submission of timesheet information to the payroll department on a monthly basis
Analyse and identify incurred costs versus budget and prior year to understand cost drivers for key stakeholders
Review the financial information processed by the accounting team to ensure accuracy and integrity thereof
Ensure cash-flow forecast is done on a monthly basis to identify funding requirements
Provide regular, comprehensive, and constructive feedback to the team and conduct performance appraisals
Review debtorsxe2x80x99 age analysis on a monthly basis and highlight issues
Maintain strong working relationships with all members of the team and external vendors
Ensure stock receiving system and procedures are followed
Ensure operational controls are effective
Develop and implement financial and operating systems in line with policies and SOPxe2x80x99s
Review the budgeted fees and expenses for large variances and resolve prior to the CFOxe2x80x99s review
Preparation of forecast(rolling estimate) for the financial year
Identify cost-saving opportunities to improve the financial well-being of the company
Periodic float checks
Investigate and respond to audit queries and ensure the audit is completed on time
Balance Mircos to Opera on a daily basis
Ensure operational risk mitigation takes place
Ensure cash flow is maintained at an optimum level
Annual income tax calculations and submission to CFO for review
Delegate work to team members according to capacity, level of skill, and exposure to different types of work and complexity
Manage risk and ensure audit compliance and liaise with the appointed audit teams
Review and approve the final pay register for business units under management
Ensure the companyxe2x80x99s COS targets are maintained
Adjusts management style to get the best from team members
Review monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation file to ensure the integrity of the financial statement line items

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3-5 Years of team management experience in Accounting or Finance
Hospitality and tourism experience beneficial
Advanced accounting systems knowledge
Highly organized individual
Good problem-solving skills
Ability to build lasting relationships

Qualification:
BCom or equivalent nonnegotiable
SAICA/SAIPA Articles beneficial
