Job Description


Responsibilities of the role:

Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of Cash Flow
  • Preparation of Management Report
  • Analyse and Interpret the Management Report Information
  • Preparation and Submission of Vat 201 in SARS efiling
  • Preparation and Submission of Payroll
  • Preparation and Submission of EMP 201 in SARS efiling
  • Review debtors ageing
  • Review and approve credit notes
  • Review, approve and monitor any stock write offs
  • Review creditors ageing
  • Review stock ageing report
  • Review the monthly payment schedules including the weekly payment schedules
  • Review all balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process all month-end financial journals
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
Biannually Responsibilities
  • Preparing and Submission of Provisional Tax Returns in SARS fling
  • Managing the KPIxe2x80x99s process of the Finance Team
  • Meeting with individual finance team member regarding KPIxe2x80x99s
  • Recommendation of salary increase and bonus for Finance Team based on KPIxe2x80x99s to CFO
Annually Responsibilities
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Preparation of audit schedules for yearend audit
  • Process all year audit journals
  • Overseeing the year end audit
  • Review the provisional AFS
  • Close the year in Acumatica once AFS is signed
General & Ad hoc Responsibilities
  • Managing the team responsible for processing sales order
  • Managing the debtors team
  • Managing the creditors and banking team
  • Bank Profile Management
  • Managing the procurement team
  • Assist and review pricing of stock
  • Assisting and review costing of imports and freight forwarders
  • Ensure Foreign Exchange Compliance
  • Assist in operations and managing the operation team
  • Assist with management of outsourced logistics and warehousing
  • Responsible for training staff and upskilling staff
  • Implementing controls to streamline the accounting function and to mitigate risk
  • Ensure CIPC Compliance
  • Ensure all tax, accounting and compliance standards are maintained and adhered to
  • Update pricing for sales orders when required
  • Overseeing all stock takes at all warehouses including yearend stock take
  • Attendance of stock takes when necessary
  • Ensure Department of Labour Compliance
  • Managing the Human Resource Function
  • Managing the Payroll Function
  • Managing the Office Management Function
  • Any additional requests from CFO, CEO and Directors
Minimum Requirements for the role:
  • Qualification Requirement: B.Com/Business Science (Finance/Accounting Degree) from a university
  • 5 years financial manager experience in Retail/Warehousing
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead a team by creating and maintaining a productive, efficient, and happy environment
  • Strong excel skills
  • Good working knowledge of Acumatica and/or experience with an ERP system
