Experience:
  • 5 to 8 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in finance function post articles
  • Experience in Group of Companies is preferred

Duties:
  • General accounting records and reconciliations:
  • Responsible for oversight of the accounting process of all Group entities and to ensure that proper controls are designed and operate effectively.
  • Ensures the safeguarding of Group assets.
  • Responsible for the review of periodic records including balance sheet reconciliations of all Group entities.
  • Management information:
  • Is proactive in addressing the information needs of the users of financial information in the business
  • Prepares reports, summaries or presentations to accompany the management information prepared for executive management
  • Sales function:
  • Performs analytic reviews of revenue, gross contribution and Assets Under and provides commentary for reporting purposes where necessary
  • Audit and year-end:
  • Prepare AFS for the Group
  • Is overall responsible for the leadership, guidance, direction, deliverables and timelines set for the project
  • Special projects:
  • Is overall responsible for the leadership, guidance, direction, deliverables and timelines set for the project
  • Other
  • Oversee the payroll function
People:
  • Contribute to the financial teamxe2x80x99s overall action plan as per set work activities
  • Assist Financial Manager to monitor and manage capacity within the finance department and re-allocate work where necessary
  • Organizing meetings, annual finance conference, socials, motivation and team-building for finance team
Processes:
  • Month End Reporting
  • Manage month end accounting process for allocated entities,
  • Management Accounts
  • Complete and review management accounts for allocated entities
  • Consolidations
  • Consolidate management accounts for all the companies within the Group including consolidations entries (assisted by the Financial Manager)
  • Consolidation of intercompany transactions across the Group
  • Reconciliations
  • Payroll
  • Review Group payroll captured by the payroll administrator and all reports related thereto
  • SARS
  • Calculate, submit and pay VAT for allocated entities
  • Resolve SARS audit queries
  • Ensure that all tax affairs are up to date for all companies within the Group with SARS
  • Apply for tax clearance certificates for all entities within the Group
  • Complete and submit annual tax returns and provisional tax for allocated entities
  • Review payroll related submissions and payments
  • Annual Financial Statements and Audit
  • Assist the Financial Manager in the compilation of the Group annual financial statements/reporting packs
  • Compile annual financial statements for allocated entities
  • Budgets
  • Compile annual budget for allocated entities
  • Consolidation of the Group of companiesxe2x80x99 annual budget and intercompany transaction
  • Manage the annual budget processes, including preparing consolidated budgets and intercompany transactions
  • Ensure X3 purchase requests are within budget for allocated entities
  • Manage timelines
  • Training/Management:
  • Provide assistance/training bookkeepers and payroll administrator
  • Present, arrange and attend training from time to time
  • Perform bi-annual performance reviews
  • Review asset journals, payroll journals and any other journals/information prepared by bookkeepers and payroll administrator
  • Treasury and financial soundness:
  • Prepares weekly and monthly Group cash flows
  • Payments:
  • Review weekly payments prepared by the bookkeepers
  • Review and submission of payments on X3
  • Ensure supplier procurement process is followed
  • Review and management of operational cashflow for allocated companies
  • Administration:
  • Administration of FNB, SARS e-filing, Draftworx and X3 (Suppliers as well)
  • Support:
  • Support financial manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounts department
  • Assist accountants and bookkeepers with accounting issues and implementation
  • Prepare internal reports and information as requested from time to time
  • Time Management:
  • Ensure strict adherence to the Group reporting timelines finance systems, processes and controls.
