Job Description


An exciting permanent opportunity has emerged for the position of Financial Manager within a well-established animal feed manufacturing company located in Modderfontein, Johannesburg. The company is recognized for its commitment to delivering high-quality and specialized products tailored to the agricultural sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall finance function for the company, including planning, budgeting, reconciliations, performance maintenance, and risk analysis.
  • Perform various budgeting functions, including financial budgeting, performance budgets, and maintenance of those budgets.
  • Develop and implement internal controls across the entire organization, from floor level to integrated systems management.
  • Manage assignments such as improving profitability margins, identifying risks through risk analysis, optimizing group structure for tax benefits, statutory and regulatory compliance, and Value Added Taxation accounting.
  • Manage the SARS compliance function, including VAT, EMP, and Income Tax submissions, audit management, and all SARS-related reconciliation submissions.
  • Review and submit corporate and individual tax returns.
  • Oversee the debtors' and creditorsxe2x80x99 functions.
  • Prepare monthly management pack reports for business units, including comparisons and explanations for significant variations between budget and actuals.
  • Prepare management accounting information on costings, margins, and stock levels.
  • Support the development, standardization, and implementation of new financial systems and processes to reflect best practices and ensure efficient, high-quality financial information.
  • Prepare audit support schedules for year-end audits.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial requirements.
  • Support the management team in advising on various accounting matters.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • BComm degree.
  • At least 8 years of experience, of which 5 years should be in a financial lead position.
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English with professional communication skills.
  • A background in manufacturing is essential.
  • Experience in financial accounting and monthly management reporting.
  • Experience in contributing to successful culture change and new ways of working.
