Position title : FINANCIAL MANAGER
Position reports to : HEAD OF FINANCE
Business Unit : PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

Main purpose / objective of the position:
Accountable for the Trust account administration in accordance with Estate Agency Affairs Act to achieve the desired internal controls. Production reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy of trust reporting and ensure that the report results comply with EAAB act.

  • Responsible for the monitoring and management of Banking departments internal controls, ensuring that controls are effective and are adhered to at all times.
  • Final review and sign off of bank reconciliation at month end. (part of trust cover) - Ensuring that there are no anomalies on the bank recons.
  • Review and managing of the unidentified items and monitoring tracking movements monthly. Ensuring that each allocation is accounted for and is valid.
  • Preparing of the Trust cover analysis and Landlord shortfalls
  • Review and EAAB interest schedule
  • Ensuring that PMA interest allocation is aligned with the system and interest schedule balances with the 7529 GL account monthly
  • Performing PMA audit bi-annually and ensuring that each Landlord holding Trust account has a PMA in place and if not, ensuring that Salient terms are signed and in place
  • Liaising with Internal and External audit on Trust audits.
  • Trust account audit query management
  • Follow up on audit findings and ensuring that the required controls are in place and are working effectively
  • Co50 TB management
  • To attend to the banking departments office administration
  • Ensuring that filing and record keeping is updated accurate and easily retrievable

Experience / Education:
NQF level 7 qualification
At least 3 years minimum experience within Finance and Admin

Skills / Knowledge required:
Knowledge of Finance and Administration Legislation and regulations
Computer literate.
