Our client has created a dedicated division that specializes in Interior Architecture, Furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) Turn-key and smart, durable Furniture solutions exclusively for the education sector. At the same time the objective is to help our clients leverage prime institutional real estate by creating flexible, anywhere, anytime, hybrid and multipurpose spaces.

Purpose of the Job:

Our client is seeking to appoint a dynamic, goal orientated and experienced professional to assist in leading the financial department, influencing strategic growth across the business, accurate reporting of financial results and taking ownership of the overall financial health of the companyxe2x80x99s financial affairs.

The role will consist of taking ownership for the management accounting, financial reporting, business partnering and ultimately ensuring that our client use capital and resources optimally. The goal is to support and enable the executive team with accurate and timeous reporting and insights to achieve business objectives and ensure sound decision making.

Key responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Supervision of transactional accountant
  • Working with members from EXCO to establish and influence operational strategy
  • Ongoing project finance
  • Accurately track income and expenses
  • Oversee vendor payments and payroll processing
  • Prepare and review financial statements
  • Regularly monitor key business performance indicators and financial trends
  • Manage the preparation of the companyxe2x80x99s budget
  • Account and cost reconciliation
  • Manage liquidity and cash flow
  • Implement watertight controls to prevent theft and fraud
  • Perform accounting closeout procedures on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
  • Providing financial reports and interpreting financial information to management team while recommending further courses of action
  • Maintaining the financial health of the organization
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction and margin improvement opportunities
  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives
  • Create financial models that assist executive team with critically evaluating the viability of new business opportunities and revenue streams
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained
  • Engaging with other departments to understand operational activity within each division
  • Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual results
  • Develop secure procedures to maintain confidential information
  • Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations
  • Consult executive team about funding options
  • Managing and overseeing the taxation affairs of the organisation and liaising with the external tax firm for specialist advice
  • Managing and overseeing the cash flow of the company and ensuring it has the appropriate treasury controls
  • Managing the External Auditor relationship and ensuring the organisation is compliant with accounting standards
  • Managing and overseeing the company's banking and borrowing arrangements (where applicable)
  • Recruitment, training, mentoring and development of finance team (when applicable)
  • Manage and develop the finance team, ensuring that they are equipped to support the company's growth and success
  • Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Financial and
  • Risk Management to ensure the business has a solid risk framework in place
  • Overseeing commercial decision making from tender analysis, margin analysis, pricing
  • analysis etc.
  • Managing and tracking budget and accounting information including billing, collections, and tax information
  • Reviewing all formal finance, HR and IT related policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with laws and regulations
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, and or a professional accounting qualification such as SAIPA, CIMA or AGA advantageous
  • 5xe2x80x9310 years proven experience as a financial leader
  • Demonstrated track record in contributing to business growth and working with executives
  • Exposure working in a project management, construction, interior design or higher education and training environments would be beneficial
