Job Description


Medium sized business in the retail sector is looking for a Financial Manager to join their fast growing business. Based in Cape Town's Century City. Good growth opportunity.

Must have relevant accounting qualifications a proven track record of at least 5 years experience in accounting and managerial field.
Principal Responsibilities
Financial Management:

  • Financial controls and sound accounting skills
  • Budgets, forecasts and cash flow preparation
  • Prepare timeous monthly sales reports for management
  • Preparation of monthly accounts
  • Liaison with and management of service providers.
  • Control of monthly payments to all suppliers and service providers.
  • Compliance with tax, legislative & statutory requirements.
  • Manage stock system with regular stock reports
  • Audit liaison and preparation of annual financial statements.
  • Manage team members ensure all control and those quality standards achieved
  • Manage recruitment and training of new team members.
  • Internet trouble shooting and managing relationships with service providers.
Commercial Opportunities

Tax:
  • Prepare PAYE submissions and monthly reconciliation
  • Prepare and submit tax and VAT returns
  • Manage general income tax and VAT queries.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Accounting qualification with > 5 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with related experience in the Retail Sector
  • Good planning and organizing skills.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Proactive, analytical and strong attention to detail.
  • Management and leadership skills.
People and Management Skill
  • Management of a current team of 7 administration staff who process the daily orders.
  • Good people skills in being able to deal with a range of people:
  • Ability to multi-task and operate under pressure in a fast-changing environment
