Our client in the Utility Management industry is currently looking for a Financial Manager in Claremont, Cape Town.
Responsibilities:
To oversee the planning, implementation, management, and running of all the financial activities of the companyxe2x80x99s portfolio.
Leadership, Direction and Management:
Provide leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting teams.
Management and involvement with the day-to-day operations of the paymentxe2x80x99s teams, the debtors and invoicing team, and the management accountant teams.
Ensuring the monthly management accounts are meaningful, and that all supporting documents are attached for any variances.
All operations matters, work as part of the Senior Management Team to contribute financial and operational expertise in the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, practices, etc.
Responsible for reviewing financial systems, internal controls and procedures.
Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets.
To interact with Director, Finance and Staffing Committees by providing financial reports and information to ensure sound financial and operational governance.
Ensuring cashbooks, age analysis, are completed for the monthly management account packs.
Planning and coordinating the external audit process.
Review the Annual Financial Statements of all entities.
Solution driven and have the ability to identify, develop and implement effective work processes, procedures and controls.
Strategy:
Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team.
Define financial requirements against mandated goals and objectives.
Improve operational systems, processes and policies - specifically, better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organisational planning.
Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
Develop financial goals and objectives for the team.
Develop financial policies and procedures for operational efficiency.
Reporting:
Reporting to the Group Administration Manager.
Set budgets for each company and division.
Analyse monthly accounts.
Produce financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses, etc as per due dates scheduled.
Oversee the preparation of all financial reporting.
Ensure all department deliverables are met on time.
Monitor the actual use of financial resources against the approved budget.
Produce financial reporting that shows the organizationxe2x80x99s financial position, operating performance and cash flow over a period time through the use of financial statements.
Create management reports on a regular basis that are relevant to decision making processes.
Requirements:
Completed B.Com/B.Compt Degree in Accounting/Financial Management.
Relevant experience in Commercial/Corporate/Operational environment in a Managerial role.
Proven leadership skills is essential (experience in managing a Corporate Finance team/department).
Solid knowledge of financial processes, systems and related laws.
Experience in a Commercial environment, including developing and implementing effective work processes, procedures and controls.
Excellent computer skills (experience in Google drive, docs, sheets advantageous)
