Job Description


Requirements:

  • A relevant B.Com Degree or similar qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 to 8 years of financial and management experience within the financial operations of the hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with back-office or accounting systems like SAGE, SAP, SUN, and Freshbooks.
  • Knowledge of Hotel Software or Property Management Systems such as FIDELIO, OPERA, or Protel.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills in English, both written and oral.
  • Exceptional financial and business decision-making abilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations within the hospitality sector, including budget preparation, financial analysis, and compliance with tax regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit, and control activities, as well as asset and liability reconciliation, working capital management, and cash flow monitoring.
  • Safeguard and update all legal documentation related to the financial status of the establishment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all financial matters, representing the finance department during regular meetings with department heads.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to align financial strategies with the organization's goals.
  • Prepare and review annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and operating results, ensuring the accuracy of all financial reports and transactions in accordance with local regulations.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including the property owner or managing director.
  • Timely submission of management reports, with a strong adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain robust financial and operational control measures to protect the establishment's assets.
  • Proactively assist in cost control initiatives and explore revenue enhancement opportunities within the hospitality sector.
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize and organize work effectively.
  • Foster a high-performing and professional team within the Finance and Accounting Department.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant tax requirements, including timely filing.
  • Optimize the establishment's operational costs, profitability, and risk management.
  • Accurately document profits and losses, applying fair and consistent property policies.
  • Exceed performance goals, budget targets, and team objectives.
  • Oversee both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Organize regular finance department meetings and acknowledge team achievements publicly.
  • Provide effective leadership by recognizing top performers, promoting teamwork, and encouraging work-life balance.
  • Cultivate open and collaborative relationships with employees and ensure the same within the team.
