We are seeking a key partner to join our lean team, someone who can drive our acquisition strategy by building and maintaining the foundational data pipelines and models that fuel our decisions.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a highly skilled and technically proficient Financial Data Analyst to take ownership of our acquisitions pipeline and financial data aggregation. This is a crucial role focused on increasing business by providing the insights and data extraction that allow our leadership to make informed decisions. Your primary responsibility will be to build templates, automate data collection from various sources using APIs, and leverage those data sets to create clear, actionable insights. You will work closely with leadership to provide the analytical foundation for our strategic decisions, serving as a technical partner in the M&A and asset management process. While a background in real estate is a plus, your technical skills and ability to learn quickly are what matter most.
Key Responsibilities

• Technical Data Aggregation & Automation:

• Utilize Python and SQL to programmatically pull and aggregate financial data from a variety of sources, including public websites, internal databases, and external APIs.
• Build and maintain foundational financial models in Excel, ensuring they are robust, dynamic, and can be efficiently populated with data from your scripts.
• Synthesize large datasets to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
• Analytical & Strategic Partnership:

• Work closely with leadership to provide analytical insights that inform deal strategy and acquisition decisions.
• Contribute to market research by pulling in external data to inform modeling assumptions and competitor analysis.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all models and templates.
• Portfolio & Asset Support:

• Contribute to asset management by tracking and analyzing the performance of existing properties.
• Assist with ad-hoc administrative tasks related to deal flow and pipeline management.

Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in Excel is a must, with the ability to build and navigate complex spreadsheets without issues. Direct experience with Python and SQL for data manipulation and API integration is highly valued.
• Experience: A background in financial analysis, financial modeling, or capital markets is required. Experience at an investment bank or research firm is highly desirable. Experience in private equity or real estate is a plus, but not required.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical, engineering-like approach to data processing are essential.
• Business Acumen: A solid understanding of basic finance concepts such as rental yield, appreciation, and equity.
• Learning & Adaptability: A self-starter and quick learner who is motivated by performance and results.
• Communication: Ability to clearly and concisely articulate financial concepts and explain complex data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
