We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Financial Controller to oversee the financial functions within our Corporate Control division. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, while supporting the best practices in accounting and financial management across all operations.
Key Performance Areas:
Financial month end reporting and reviews:
Balance Sheet Integrity month end reconciliation
Monthly Business & Operational Report
Supporting schedules for the monthly consolidated financial reports
IAS 21 accounting:
foreign currency revaluation and translation
Intercompany transactions and balances (including age analysis)
SAP Year end closing
Selling, General and Admin (SGA):
Monthly SGA management report
Compile and submit the annual and monthly SGA budget figures
Perform subsequent analysis of variances with prior year budgets and actuals
Prepare regular forecasts and analyse deviations from the approved budget
Daily SGA recons and payments and accruals
Petty cash and Corporate Credit Cards and Employee claims
All payroll journals and reporting
Identify any cost saving initiatives and opportunities
Internal & External Audit:
Ensure all audit findings are addressed and resolved.
Implement required controls to prevent adverse audit findings.
Fixed assets:
Fixed Assets Register and Asset counts
CAPEX reporting
IFRS16 accounting
Companywide Insurance Register
Compile and submit the annual and monthly CAPEX budget figures.
Team management:
Management and training of the accounting team and their career development plans
Development of back-up planning procedures, cross-functional and rotation plans
Standard Operating Procedures and Policy documentation for key business processes
VAT calculations, review, submissions and tax authority audits
Other daily and monthly tasks:
Group corporate recharges calculations and invoicing (shared services)
Broker account reconciliations
Daily bank processing, reconciliations and Group reporting
Hedging instructions and supporting documentation
Treasury:
daily and monthly cash and debt reporting
Payment and journal authorizations
On-farm depot financial reviews and presentation to MD and CFO
Systems and innovation:
Continuous drive for system and process enhancement and automation
Risk Management:
continuously identify financial risks and implement the most appropriate internal control while adhering to all Company Policies and Procedures.
Perform back-up functions for the Reporting Controller and Snr. Corporate Controller as and when required.
Minimum Criteria:
Qualified CA (SA
4 Years relevant experience in a similar role
With two years' experience in a leadership/people management role
Computer Literacy (MS Excel - advanced)
Fluent in English

Office based in Techno Park, Stellenbosch.
Reports to the Senior Corporate Controller.
Market related base salary + provident and medical aid benefits.
Work model - Monday to Friday with ad hoc flexibility working from home.
Seasonal activities / harvest run from April to August.
December is financial year end.
