The client is seeking a highly capable Financial Controller to oversee financial operations across all companies within the group. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring robust financial management, statutory compliance, and strategic reporting that supports effective decision-making at the highest levels..
As a Financial Controller you will:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department and ensure the effective use of staff and financial resources.
- Ensure full compliance with all statutory financial, accounting, and control requirements.
- Manage external audit processes and maintain appropriate audit arrangements.
- Produce accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations, including banks, debtors, creditors, and inter-company accounts.
- Enforce finance policies, procedures, and systems across all teams.
- Prepare and submit annual financial statements aligned with South African legal requirements.
- Deliver monthly management and financial reports to internal teams and the Board of Directors.
- Support and collaborate on the annual budgeting process with the Group Financial Manager.
- Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and ensure effective cash management.
- Analyze financial reports, comparing actuals to budget, and identify corrective actions where necessary.
- Assist with provisional and year-end tax calculations.
- Take on any reasonable finance or accounting tasks as required by management.
Relevant BCom in financial qualification preferred
Caseware experience required
Minimum 5 years experience
Good analytical skills and communication skills
Experience in leadership role advantageous
