Financial Controller Finance

Our client is looking for a Financial Controller who can bring sharp financial insight, strong leadership, and a passion for process improvement to a dynamic plant setting. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves turning data into decisions, managing costs, and driving performance from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management & Strategy:

• Provide financial analysis and strategic support to management and operations teams
• Maintain accurate financial records, fixed asset registers, and intercompany balances
• Review payroll, budgets, forecasts, and financial variances to keep performance on track
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and sound internal controls
• Reporting & Forecasting:

• Prepare monthly financial packs, flash results, and performance reports
• Compile and analyse weekly sales data and plant-level financial statements
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting cycles
• Costing & Stock Control:

• Calculate landed costs, monitor purchase price variances, and oversee stock management
• Lead and review stock takes, investigating variances to maintain accuracy and accountability
• CAPEX, Tooling & Assets:

• Track CAPEX and tooling spend, ensuring effective investment and ROI
• Manage fixed assets and support value and depreciation analyses
• Cash Flow & Forex Management
• Oversee plant cash flow and working capital
• Review foreign exchange forecasts and manage FEC contracts as needed
• Audits & Compliance:

• Prepare for year-end and statutory audits, ensuring alignment with group standards
• Support internal audit and risk management processes
• People Leadership:

• Lead, coach, and motivate a small finance team to deliver excellence
• Build a positive, collaborative, and high-performance culture
• Champion continuous improvement and innovation within the finance function

Key Requirements:

• National Diploma or BCom in Accounting
• CA(SA) or CIMA preferred
• Minimum 5 years experience in a similar financial control or plant finance role
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and a keen eye for operational detail
• Experience in manufacturing or production environments is advantageous
• A proactive mindset with a passion for efficiency, accuracy, and improvement
