Financial Controller
Job Description
A diversified investment holding company seeks an experienced Accountant to join their dynamic team and provide strategic finance guidance to a newly acquired subsidiary within the group.
This role will be based in Durban North.
Job & Company Description:
The purpose of this role will be to provide support for the business through the Finance function, working closely with the current Financial Manager. You will also be responsible for transactional and journal control and recons, as well as maintaining the fixed asset register and WIP balances.
You will report to the Group CFO and Group CEO, as well as the Divisional Financial Manager. You will have a team of Debtors and Creditors Clerks reporting into you.
Education:
- BCom degree in finance or accounting
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles preferred, with 2 to 3 years post articles experience
- OR 5 years' experience within an Accountant position
- Construction or contracting industry experience, and understanding of a project-based environment - ESSENTIAL
- Knowledge of Sage
- Strong MS Excel skills required
- Strong understanding of financial and business processes
- Knack for numbers and analytically minded
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Deadline driven
