The Head of Financial Control is responsible for managing and strengthening the financial control environment across a large market or region. This role ensures the consistent application of internal financial controls, technical accounting policies, and finance procedures, aligned with global standards. It plays a key role in driving compliance, supporting audit readiness, and enabling reliable financial reporting.
The position supports the implementation of Group Financial Control strategy, promotes continuous improvement in financial processes, and serves as the key liaison for external auditors, group policies, and financial governance activities.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & ComplianceLead the development, implementation, and enforcement of robust internal financial controls and accounting policies across the group.
Ensure accurate and reliable balance sheet reporting and proactively identify underlying risks and opportunities.
Monitor and implement global financial control policies and standards across markets and regions.
Oversee compliance with local team, tax, treasury, and risk management requirements.
Manage internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely and effective responses to audit findings and regulatory compliance requirements.
Operational FinanceOversee month-end balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with group reporting timelines.
Assist with operational finance activities, including payment releases, tax review, intercompany reconciliations, and cash collections.
Manage ad hoc finance projects and ensure deliverables meet internal expectations.
Managing the cross-backup function for the accountants and finance reporting team
Review the NWC and CCR
Manage the budget and reforecast for Balance Sheet
Leadership & Capability BuildingLead, coach, and inspire the Financial Control team to achieve excellence and continuous improvement.
Foster a performance-driven culture with clear objective setting, ongoing feedback, and development planning.
Build tools, processes, and capabilities to enhance team efficiency and value delivery within the finance function.
Minimum RequirementsQualification: Chartered Accountant CA(SA)
Experience: 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience
Proven expertise in:
+ Financial control and compliance
+ Internal and external audits
+ Technical accounting
+ Taxation and regulatory reporting
Preferred Skills & ExperienceExperience in using SAP BPC and Navision
Strong understanding of IFRS and other technical accounting frameworks
Demonstrated ability to drive finance transformation and process improvements
Proven experience managing audit relationships and handling complex accounting issues
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
