What will you do?

Under limited supervision responsible for computing, classifying, recording and verification of numerical data for use in maintaining accounting. Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions. Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases. Computes and records charges, refunds and cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals and similar items. Prepares vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports and other records and reviews for accuracy. Reconciles bank statements. Monitors loans and accounts payable and receivable to ensure that payments are up to date. Reconciles report discrepancies and problems. Codes data for input to financial data processing system according to company procedures.

What will make you successful in this role?

The Financial Consultant will be responsible for payment function, invoicing, funds under management reporting and month-end tasks within the Group Accounting team.

Key outcomes

The following outcomes will be expected to be achieved by the Financial Consultant.

  • Manage third party wrap process; monthly payment and distributing reports to wrap owners and facilitate creation of new wrap fund vendors
  • Issue customer invoices for Glacier business
  • Manage short term investment balance held. Ensure monthly disposal and monitoring of units acquired (SAS)
  • Processing monthly management fee journals
  • Processing business provisions
  • Monitoring customer ageing and following up on outstanding debt due
  • Processing monthly Namibian Tax
  • Clearing control accounts
  • Complete monthly funds under management report and flows report
  • Manage payment run function: daily and monthly business expenses
  • Manage LDC Manco payments for client accounting
  • Approve cash focuses on Business Integrator (ABSA platform)
  • Submit monthly invoices via Procure to pay (P2P)
Qualifications and experience
  • Relevant financial qualification would be to your advantage
  • Experience within the financial services industry/ linked product industry in a similar role
  • Computer skills (MS Excel and SAP)

Qualification and Experience

Grade 12 with 3 to 5 years related experience.

Knowledge and Skills

Recording of financial Transactions

Reconciliations and query resolution

Compliance with SOP's and SLA's

Authorisation of transactions within mandates
