Finance Analyst: ReportingLocation: Based in South Africa, Johannesburg, Randburg Purpose of the Position:
Responsible for reporting performance of product portfolios, financial forecasting, budgeting, metric analysis, cost controls, ad hoc financial analysis, and general finance support to Head of Finance.
Key Performance Objectives Support Finance and General Accounting operations and External Reporting Month end
Synergy month end procedures
Responsible for providing financial data and calculations to Shared Services to process accounting entries (i.e. for investments, fixed asset valuations, product costing, hedge accounting, devaluation journals, monthly accruals and provisions etc.)
Responsible for ensuring that the accounting records correctly reflect the financial results
Annual
Responsible for reviewing the fixed asset register including annual useful life estimations
Responsible for monitoring the preparation of the stock forecast and reviewing stock take reconciliations
Responsible for notes and commentary for external and statutory reporting
Responsible for preparing the BEE scorecard for the entity
Ad Hoc
Responsible for the approval of purchase requisitions per the Delegation of Authority
Consult with Shared Services Central Accounting team to resolve Intercompany Disputes
Responsible for preparing information that will be sent to the Regulators
Consult with the Shared Services Central Accounting team to prepare for internal and statutory audits
Perform Financial Planning and Analysis
Facilitate the budget and forecast process for the Business Unit
Consolidate and report on Budgets and Forecasts
Consolidate 24 month Treasury cash flow forecasts
Consolidate 24 month rolling forecasts of Income Statement and Cash flow statement
Proactively partner with the business to identify and evaluate opportunities to improve performance and ensure that change initiatives are implemented
Prepare monthly reporting pack (including financial performance and variance analyses against plans, forecasts and regional objectives)
Work with corporate BI team to set up and further improve reporting for the business unit
Qualifications
Must be a CA (SA)
Experience / Skills
Minimum 2 years post article relevant experience in a similar role
Sound knowledge of IFRS and Taxation rules
SAP system experience
Advanced excel skills
