My client is a well-established company with a national footprint, operating in a fast-paced, structured environment. They're looking for a hands-on accountant who will manage financial reporting, ensure compliance with tax legislation, and support external audits.
This is a great opportunity for a candidate who understands the importance of accuracy, process, and professionalism in financial operations. You'll have exposure to various areas. From fixed assets and reconciliations to tax, VAT, and reporting.
Requirements:
- Record and reconcile fixed asset transactions monthly
- Manage month-end close and ensure accurate journal entries
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Submit VAT and income tax returns within legal timeframes
- Compile annual financial statements and support audit processes
- Ensure all accounting records meet legislative and internal requirements
- Review supplier invoices and assist with payment approvals
- A diploma or degree in accounting or finance
- 3 to 5 years' experience in a Financial Accountant or similar role
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and accounting principles
- Experience with South African tax laws and reporting standards
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable managing month-end pressures
- Able to work well on your own and collaborate within a team
