Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their team.
Job type: Full time, permanent
Location: Rosebank, Johannesburg
Main function - Custodian of the general ledger and sound management of accounting function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and authorise supplier payments
- Request and review supplier statements to ensure completeness and accuracy of the general ledger/ supplier listing
- Review and approve customer sales invoices
- Follow-up with clients on payments
- Ensure that payments received from clients are correctly allocated against their statements
- Maintain budgets and compiling periodic reports that compare budgets to actuals
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Liaising with auditors and provide information in response to queries to the audit file
- Carry out of the tasks related to audits and other relevant financial reviews
- Cash flow management and forecasting xe2x80x93 regularly reviewing and managing cash flow of the business
- Liaising and Resolving queries received from our back-office accounting partner, and eventually moving the bookkeeping function in-house
- BCom or BCom Honours
- Experience in a manufacturing or retail environment is advantageous
- Xero
- Sage
- Quickbooks
- Stakeholder management.
