Financial Accountant Position

Our client, a company in the Agricultural Export sector, is looking for a detailed, driven Accountant to join their team in the Paarl area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare Trial Balance up to audit level
• Maintain accurate records of creditor accounts and reconciliations
• Capture and reconciliation of all bank transactions
• Accurately process creditor invoices/credit notes and purchase requisitions to the correct general ledger
• Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register
• Sales data imports and reconciliations
• Follow up with suppliers and customers timeously regarding outstanding accounts
• Ensure all finance filing is up to date and accurate
• Complete stock production runs
• Report on stock variances
• Reviewing of Debtors recons performed every month
• Answer audit queries
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
• Load all bank payments
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
• Reviewing of weekly Producer statement
• Post of Producer cost recovery invoices
• Complete and submit VAT and PAYE returns
• Monthly reporting preparation
• Reconcile and pass monthly stock accounts
• Ad hoc duties and responsibilities assigned by Senior Management
• Analyzing foreign currency differences and profits

Qualifications:

• Completed Financial degree
• Completed articles
• 3-5 years of work experience
• Experience in multi-currency transactions
• Strong proficiency in Excel, including Vlookup and pivot functions
• Ability to process large amounts of data into reports in Excel using formulas, no manual work
• Experience in Xero is advantageous
• Experience in the fruit industry and exports is advantageous
• Willingness to handle various accounting tasks on Xero, including daily receipts, payments, cost payments, bank, debtors, and creditors reconciliations, and general accounting work
• Strong analytical thinking and analytical work capability
• Knowledge in cost accounting is a plus
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Accuracy and speed under pressure are essential
• Good IT knowledge

Salary offered: R30 000-R40 000
