Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our clients finance team.
This role will oversee critical financial operations, including fixed asset management, subsidiary management, taxation, internal audits, and the preparation of annual financial statements. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Manage fixed assets, including register maintenance, depreciation, CAPEX approvals, and disposals.
  • Process year-end adjustments and assist with audits to ensure IFRS compliance.
  • Manage subsidiary accounts, consolidations, and Annual Financial Statements (AFS).
  • Oversee creditors, supplier reconciliations, payments, and timely resolution of queries.
  • Supervise national supplier processes and report on faulty cylinder returns.
  • Conduct internal audits, stock counts, and manage stock provisions with Supply Chain.
  • Prepare tax computations and returns, ensuring compliance with PAYE, VAT, income tax, and provisional tax.
  • Liaise with drafters for IFRS-compliant AFS and manage audit processes.
  • Assist with cash flow projections and forex payment schedules.
  • Perform miscellaneous finance tasks, including online payment processing.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • BCom Accounting
  • BCom Honours
Experience:
  • Completed 3 Years SAICA Articles
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and financial reporting.
  • Experience managing fixed assets, subsidiaries, and stock provisions.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and taxation (PAYE, VAT, income tax).
  • Fixed asset and CAPEX management.
  • Preparation of management accounts, consolidations, and AFS.
  • Experience with audits, internal controls, and stock management.
  • Supplier and creditors management.
  • Cash flow and treasury support.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
