An Accounting firm is currently seeking a Accountant to join their finance team close to Melville (Johannesburg).
Duties:
- Draft annual financial statements for multiple clients in line with IFRS / GRAP / SME standards, depending on entity type.
- Review and compile client trial balances and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Liaise with audit teams to ensure alignment between audit findings and financial statement disclosures.
- Assist clients in preparing audit packs, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
- Prepare working papers and lead schedules to support the financial statement drafting process.
- Ensure accurate classification of accounts, disclosures, and notes to the financial statements.
- Stay up to date with changes in accounting standards and reporting frameworks to ensure compliant reporting
- Communicate directly with clients regarding missing information, adjustments, and financial presentation queries.
- Perform quality checks and reviews on drafted financials prior to partner review or client submission.
- Support audit teams with technical accounting input during the audit process, where necessary.
- Matric required
- Accounting Degree
- 1- 3 Years'+ experience in a similar role in an audit firm
- Sage Evolution/ Xero/ Draftworx experience
- Must be able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
