Job Summary Our well-established client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team. REQUIRED SKILLS: Strong financial acumen and expertise in financial analysis, planning, and reporting. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Flexible and responsive to changes in the business that impact financial processes and reporting. Proven track record in the management of integrated ERP systems such as SAP, BAAN, Infor etc. IFRS standards knowledge is preferable. Experience and ability to utilise data through tools such as Power BI, advanced Excel etc. Working to a high level of detail. Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. Good time management. Self-motivated. Adaptability. Good Health. Willing to travel locally and internationally. Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): a) Accounts receivable management: - Processing of customer applications - Preforming credit checks, reviewing of debtor applications - Setting of credit limits and credit limit maintenance and periodic reviews - Producing and distribution of monthly debtor statements - Collection of debtor balances due and management of legal collection process if necessary - Cash collection forecasting - Expected credit loss calculations - Accounts receivable reporting and reconciliations, DSO calculation - Accounts receivable dashboard creation - Visiting customers when required b) Budgeting and Forecasting: Forecasting - Weekly forecast of sales / cost of sales / margin / overheads & EBIT - Cashflow forecasting and variance analysis - Forecasting project closures / partial profit taking (IFRS 15) / cost and margins - Income statements, balance sheet and cash flow statements Budgeting - Compiling and submission of the annual budget - Contract & project budgeting actual vs. planned cost with variance analysis - Analysis of contract & project cost - Capex budget against cost - Manpower budget vs. actual - Review of revenue and cost center variances c) Project Accounting - Hours accounting and recovery analysis - Actual vs. planned with variance analysis - Project cashflows actual against budget - Perform trend analysis and actively evaluate project cost and schedule performance to identify potential risk areas, validate forecasts, and communicate same to key stakeholders. d) Cost Control & Sales Analysis: - Setting and reviewing standards - Review cost centre cost and advise cost centre managers on improvements - Monitoring major cost and highlighting cost savings on expense accounts where necessary - Sales performance and sales margin analysis - SARB, Tax and DTI Incentives Apply, process and adhere to reporting requirements e) WIP / Project Management - Work closely with key stakeholders to identify project risks, and lead the cost and schedule contingency management process for assigned projects - Tender Review & Qualifications on large projects - Developing controls systems and procedures - Project Guarantees Negotiate and management project guarantees ensuring company liability is maintained - Management, review and recording of sales warranties - Review of project costs and margins - Closing of projects on ERP f) Reporting - Develop dashboards to communicate cost and schedule performance in real time. - Assist with monthly management report to Head Office & shareholders - Providing Project Managers, performance status and reporting, baseline change control, and risk management - Managing project control audits with regards to policies, procedures, and systems - Assisting with the audit pack and accounts reconciliations and queries g) New Systems Implementation - Review analysis and report on the proposed new system - Participate in the business process, development and design and implementation member of steering committee - Review and updating financial policies and procedures - Review of departmental operational procedures h) Quality Management - Follow strict procedures and processes dictated by ISO processes and company procedures - Develop accounting procedures to improve process and controls where necessary - Report and accounting as per regulatory and legal requirements - Ensure adequate control measures are in place in terms of security, confidentiality and documentation i) Risk management: Insurance - Monitor business transaction, claim liability and legal rights and obligations - Review Insurance agreements and ensure insurance is in place - New vehicle documentation, insurance and vehicle tracking devices j) Inter-company - Management of inter-company transactions, trade and loan accounts - Reconciling and balancing of inter-company balances k) General - Performing of month-end and year-end closure procedures Accounts receivable Inter-company WIP & Warranties Other trade receivables Manual journal processing - Creditor reconciliations review and authorisation - Bank payments review and authorisation - Assisting Financial Manager as required - Performing of ad-hoc duties as required - Working to deadlines - Working overtime as required Minimum requirements: 5 7 years proven experience in a similar role Bachelors degree in accounting, with preferred CIMA completion. Proven track record in the management of integrated ERP systems such as SAP, BAAN, Infor etc. IFRS standards knowledge is preferable.
