Key Responsibilities:

As an Accountant, you will prepare journals, reconcile accounts and prepare management account information for multiple companies within the group.
The candidates role will be drawn from the following outputs (the final job specification will be tailored to the chosen candidates experience and aptitude):

• Ensuring the accuracy of loan drawdown repayment calculations, including calculations of interest on arrears, early, settlements, and detailed amortization.
• Balance sheet reconciliations related to customer accounts
• Generate invoices and credit notes
• Customer (borrowers) payment allocations and loan reconciliations
• Sending invoices with statements and payment reminder emails to customers
• Preparation and loading of debit orders
• Management and resolution of unpaid obligations
• Resolving customer queries
• Work with the companys internal Legal Team on defaulting customers
• Ad Hoc assignments
• Performing accounting functions including:

• Journals
• VAT Calculations and Reconciliations
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations
• Balancing Intercompany loan accounts
• Cash Flow Management
• Checking/preparing bank reconciliations daily
• Loading banking transactions
• Audit Assistance Prepare audit packs and liaise with auditors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting as a major and Finance as a subject) or equivalent tertiary qualification
• Minimum of 3 years experience in an accounting/bookkeeping role
• Experience on Microsoft 365, Xero, Microsoft Teams, and Standard Bank Business online an advantage

Desired Skills and Experience

• 3+ years of accounting / bookkeeping experience
• Financial understanding including loans, leases and amortization
• Xero (Preference but not requirement)
• General Microsoft office tools

• Excel Above-average

• Online Banking Systems
• Analytical mind, organized, precise and meticulous
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
