My client is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance / restaurant team and take ownership of the full financial function, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Duties:
Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping to trial balance
- Ensure all accounting records are up to date and compliant with financial reporting standards
- Oversee stock takes, ensuring proper preparation and documentation beforehand
- Conduct stock audits and prepare post-count analysis and variance reports
- Monitor and enhance inventory control processes to minimize waste and loss
- Ensure supplier compliance with documentation (GRVs, credit requests, invoices, etc.)
- Process supplier invoices and credits
- Perform supplier reconciliations and prepare payment requests in line with company policies
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure accuracy and timely resolution of queries
- Evaluate and monitor internal financial policies and procedures for the restaurant
- Identify gaps and drive improvements for greater efficiency and accountability
- Act as the liaison between HR, Payroll, and Finance departments to ensure data accuracy, payroll alignment, and reporting compliance
- Support monthly payroll reconciliations and employee expense management
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3 - 5 years of accounting experience
Proven experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within the restaurant or hospitality sector
Solid knowledge of accounts payable, inventory control, and bookkeeping principles
Familiarity with restaurant stock management systems is advantageous
Strong Excel and accounting software skills
High attention to detail, proactive mindset, and excellent communication skills
