Overview:

PJ Engineering is a family owned engineering design & manufacturing business located in Somerset East, Eastern Cape with local and international customers in the automotive and green energy field.

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our finance team.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise and be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and conducting financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets
• Connect customer RFQs and Purchase orders to accounting system and internal manufacturing schedule
• Customer invoicing and statements
• Customer inward payments, local and forex
• Supplier invoice management and payents, local and forex
• VAT Returns, payments and receipts
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in collaboration with external auditors
• Provisional and final Tax schedules / payments in collaboration with external auditors
• Payroll and handling statutory submissions

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance
• Minimum of 8 years of proven experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role
• Deep knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards
• Solid understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in utilizing accounting software and MS Office Suite; experience with Xero, Pastel, Pastel Payroll
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with a high level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information
