Financial Accountant
Job Description
We have an amazing opportunity for a Financial Accountant at a leading global firm based in Umhlanga, Durban!
The main purpose of this role is:
To ensure the organisations financial records are accurate, compliant, and informative. This includes responsibilities across financial reporting, cashflow management, compliance, audit support, tax submissions, systems management, and contribution to continuous improvement of finance functions. The role also involves oversight for building maintenance across two UK sites.
We require a candidate with:
A recognised Accounting Qualification SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA or related (QBE candidates may also be considered)
3-5 years proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a UK accounting environment
Knowledge of financial systems (SAP, Compleat, HSBCnet)
Strong experience in financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT submissions, audit preparation and invoice finance facilities
Ability to manage external relationships with auditors, HMRC, banks and suppliers
Team leadership experience, with oversight of an Accounts Assistant
Attention to detail, a solutions-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills
