Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Implement structural enhancements in accounting processes
Suggest improvements to these systems and support their implementation
Acquire an understanding of the business necessary for decision-making and provide relevant financial
information to managers/directors
Establish and uphold effective financial controls and procedures
Review the Statement of Profit & Loss and Financial Position
Prepare reconciliations for the Balance Sheet
Generate monthly management accounts and financial analyses by the designated due date
Ensure quality control and integrity over all financial transactions, compliance, and financial reporting
Analyze and enhance the clarity of accounts/reporting
Manage the budgeting and forecasting process
Report daily cash flow metrics
Assist with the recruitment of staff
Oversee the management of direct reports
Supervise the performance management of finance staff, including KPIs
Manage the aging of debtors and creditors, providing relevant feedback to department managers
Oversee debtor insurance (CGIC)
Train staff on proper VAT posting
Review VAT entries for accuracy on a quarterly and annual basis
Perform VAT calculations for review by the financial manager
Administer all bank accounts and credit card accounts
Process and record RSA and foreign payments
Prepare monthly payroll journals, interest journals, and stock journals
Analyze expenses (weekly and monthly) and sales against the budget
Conduct stock reconciliation and analysisRecruitment Notice - Financial Accountant
Assist with the BBBEE application process annually
Aid in processing payroll using Sage Professional
Serve as a contact point for the business's secretarial services and the business auditor
Prepare audit working papers and address audit requests
Prepare the annual financial statements
Handle day-to-day functions in accounting administration
Assist with any other relevant or administrative tasks as needed
Ensure high-quality work at all times and complete all tasks promptly
Adhere to all company policies and procedure and follow the company code of conduct
Comply with all health and safety regulations
Qualifications and Experience:
Financial degree
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience OR
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programmes
ERP system experience essential
Manufacturing environment experience essential
SAIPA or SAICA Articles advantageous
