Financial Accountant
Job Description
Full accounting function to the balance sheet including Fixed Asset Register management
Statutory compliance: SARS returns, VAT, PAYE, Provisional and Annual Income Tax
Manage full payroll and all statutory payroll requirements
Monitor monthly expenditure, variance analysis, and assist with budget preparation
Handle South African Reserve Bank applications and exchange control queries
Reconcile foreign creditors and payments
Ensure internal controls and audit readiness
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5-10 years in a financial accounting role with at least 3 years managing statutory, payroll, and financial accounting functions currently.
Strong track record with SARS compliance (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, and related returns).
Proven expertise in foreign imports, forex transactions, and exchange control.
Skilled in reconciliation, supplier management, and monthly management accounts.
Highly proficient in Sage Pastel Partner & Sage VIP Premier this is non-negotiable.
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability.
Comfortable working under pressure, meeting deadlines, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Qualification:
Bachelors degree (BCom) or BTech in Accounting or Finance.
