To qualify for this position, you should meet the following entry criteria:

• -BCom Honors degree majoring in financial accounting together with SAICA or CIMA registration.
• -Is an independent self-starter who uses their excellent attention to detail and work ethic to deliver OTIF.
• -Has a proven track record of at least 2-3 years in a financial accounting/ audit role demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
• -Manufacturing experience would be to your advantage.
• -Has strong systems aptitude and ability to think on their feet.
• -Has good interpersonal skills that enable them to communicate and work well as part of a team.
• -Has strong computer literacy and experience working on financial systems in a financial accounting role (Syspro, Sage).
• -Has strong problem solving and decision-making skills together with a "can do" attitude for getting things done.
• -Strong leadership potential and ability to challenge accountability in team environment.
• -Demonstrates strong accountability and willingness to engage and deliver in line with agreed deadlines.
• -Strong leadership potential, demonstrating good self-insight and willingness to grow and learn.

Key deliverables of the role

• -Ensure tasks are completed in accordance with accounting standards.
• -Prepares monthly management accounts and reconciliations.
• -Adheres to agreed deadlines.
• -Assists Financial Manager as needed.
• -Supports auditors with year-end audits.
• -Remains up to date with latest Income Tax Act changes.

• -Supervises integrity of the payroll system, including capturing of payroll, payment of employees and maintaining employee permanent files in line with all legal requirements.
• -Completion and submission of statutory returns, including, but not limited to VAT201s, EMP201s, EMP501s, COIDA etc.
• -Maintains fixed asset register.
