Job Description


Purpose of the Role

This role will be supportive to the Financial Manager with respect to all financial management processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and ensure accurate financial information:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of financial information.
  • Assist as necessary creditors, cashbook and other processing when needed, as well as payroll information.
  • Fully understand the stock system including the raw materials, WIP and finished goods costing process in a manufacturing environment.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely accounting of inventory and stock management.
  • Ensure adequate stock control procedures are in place and followed appropriately.
  • Monitor and oversee the import of raw material and finished goods ensuring adequate processes and controls are in place and calculating landed costs for imports.
  • Review expenditure to ensure financial resources are used in an efficient manner.
  • Assist with the preparation, review and submission of all VAT 201, EMP 201 and EMP 501 returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts and associated schedules.
  • Assist management with the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities to continuously improve systems, processes and controls ensuring the finance function operates as efficiently and optimally as possible.
Balance Sheet Preparation:
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly reconciliation for all balance sheet accounts and income statement accounts.
  • Ensure correct allocations of all financial transactions.
  • Clearing of reconciliation items within a month.
  • Compile and update Fixed Asset Registers and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Assisting with the processing of month end journals.
Ensuring a successful audit:
  • Preparation and coordination of audit files for annual audits.
  • Liaise with external auditors and ensure all documents prepared as per their requirements.
  • Resolving outstanding audit queries.
Requirements
  • BCom/CIMA/SAIPA
  • At least 2 yearsxe2x80x99 experience working in a similar role.
  • Experience in working with stock and inventory management would be a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge of working on Syspro would be advantageous
