Job Description

The duties and responsibilities of this position are, but are not limited to:

• You will be responsible for the full accounting function to trial balance of various companies in the group
• Preparing monthly management accounts
• Drafting financial statements in accordance with IFRS and assisting with the Group consolidation
• You will be involved in the calculation of fee income
• Evaluating and improving internal controls around the fee income processes, including spec'ing further automation of the fee calculation process
• Capital adequacy maintenance and reporting
• You will be responsible for daily cash management and authorizing of payments on banking systems
• You will be responsible for dealing with suppliers
• Maintaining of fixed asset register ? Detailed review and analysis of balance sheet accounts and reconciliations to month end reporting
• Tax compliance and dealing with SARS on any tax matters
• You will be responsible for calculation and preparation of annual tax and VAT returns
• You will be responsible for the ongoing calculation and analysis of product costs

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• You are a CA(SA) with preferably one year post articles experience
• B. Bus. Sci or B. Com graduate with at least 5 years' experience in financial services.
• Experience in financial services, specifically in Asset management, Life companies, or Unit Trust Management Companies
• Must have good general accounting background
• Previous experience using Sage Evolution accounting package
• Advanced Microsoft excel computer skills
