Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team at the Boksburg office. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing and controlling day-to-day transactional accounting systems, processes, and procedures, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and statutory regulations.

Duties:

• Financial Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial statements, reconcile accounts, and verify entries to ensure data accuracy.
• Taxation & Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns (corporate, VAT), stay updated on tax laws, assist in audits, and collaborate with auditors and tax authorities.
• Budgeting & Financial Planning Support: Assist in budget preparation, expense monitoring, forecasting, and financial decision-making while identifying cost-saving opportunities and financial risks.
• Internal Controls & Risk Management: Implement financial controls, conduct internal audits, and ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) while supporting transparency in financial reporting.
• Commercial Support: Provide risk management and support in financial decision-making processes.

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelors degree in Accounting (BCOM)
• BCom Honours / CTA

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting or a similar role.
• Understanding of risk management, business, and accounting processes.

Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word & Excel) and ERP systems (e.g., Navision).
• Strong understanding of end-to-end financial accounting best practices and systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and effective time management.
